3D Modeller

Jagex Ltd, developer and publisher of the monumentally successful online adventure game, RuneScape, are looking for a highly creative individual to join their expanding FunOrb Graphics department as a 3D Modeller.

Working closely with game developers, the successful candidate will be responsible for the continual production of excellent 3D models for FunOrb games, based on concept art for characters, environments and objects. You will form a crucial part of the graphics team and have scope for a great deal of creative graphical input for final game products.

Key duties include:

• Produce high quality, optimised models that maintain a strong fidelity to the concept art upon which they are based;
• Take direction from, and work closely with, the Senior Modeller and FunOrb Graphics Team Leader to maintain game style and quality;
• Take responsibility for keeping project assets optimised, organised and ensure good file management is always followed;
• To undertake additional graphics tasks, dependent on your abilities, on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements:

• Art and Design or equivalent degree;
• A particular interest and skill in low-polygon modelling;
• Highly creative, with a passion for computer game graphics;
• A good knowledge of, and ability in, 3D; including modelling, animation, texturing, lighting and rendering in any software package;
• Ability to work with maximum size/complexity limitations and create great looking low-polygon count models;
• Ability to pick up new tools quickly;
• Good working knowledge of Softimage XSI.

Salary
£18-25k (negotiable, depending on experience), plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private healthcare, and gym membership.

Location
Cambridge. Candidates must be able to work in Cambridge or relocate if offered the position. Interviews will be held at the Cambridge office.
