
FunOrb Graphic Designer (Junior)
Jagex Ltd, developer and publisher of online games, seeks a highly creative, enthusiastic and energetic graphic designer to join our Graphics team. This role will be to support the team in the production of artwork for both print and online advertising, including online banners and press advertising. There will also be the opportunity to create graphics for FunOrb, our new online games arcade.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of typographic and layout principles. They will be proficient in creating original, imaginative concepts with artistic flair. They must have the ability to see projects through to a highly polished level.
Key duties include:
- Creating concepts through to finished artwork in a variety of design areas including advertising material (for print and web), web design, online communication, presentations and animated banners;
- Creating visuals for games, including graphical interfaces and game branding;
- Creating storyboards for animation;
- Following direction, briefs and concept design/development procedures;
- Work effectively and be self-motivated to take responsibility for project delivery within strict timescales;
- Working on multiple projects and managing deadlines.
Requirements:
- Strong layout and typographic skills;
- Ability to produce 2D graphics and page layouts for web/print-based designs;
- Proficient using Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (or equivalents) and Macromedia Flash;
- Good drawing skills;
- A keen eye for detail;
- Positive communicator with the ability present ideas and reasoning behind decisions;
- Energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high level of initiative;
- Art and Design or equivalent degree.
Also useful:
- An interest in retro/arcade games.

Salary

Location
Cambridge. Candidates must be able to work in Cambridge or relocate if offered the position. Interviews will be held at the Cambridge office.
