The UK’s largest independent games developer has achieved a place in the table, which lists only the top 100 British technology companies
UK, Cambridge, 21st September, 2009 – Jagex Games Studio, The UK’s largest independent games developer and publisher, has been awarded 22nd place on The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 report; Jagex was highest ranked games company in the list. The report annually ranks Britain's fastest-growing private technology companies, based on sales growth over the latest three years, from 2006 to 2009.
Companies on the league table usually demonstrate a diverse range of products and services and this year is no exception with Jagex, a self-publishing games development studio with a player out-reach base of well over 100 million, making the list.
Mark Gerhard, Jagex CEO said: “We are delighted we have been included in the report and we will be honoured to accept the award at the ceremony in November. At Jagex we are passionate about the games we make and the technology we have created to develop and deliver our games; creating fun is just part of our DNA. This drives us to innovate daily, make great games and fuels our pioneering R&D spirit in terms of tech. We work on the basis ‘there is nothing we can’t do given our talented staff and a little time’. Our values and passion have allowed us to grow one of the largest player communities in the world.”
Jagex has been invited to attend the national awards ceremony hosted by Fast Track in November to collect the award attached to such an achievement.
Now in its ninth year, The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 annual league table is compiled by Oxford-based research and networking events company Fast Track.
