For the security and enjoyment of all players, we require users of our forums to adhere to the Jagex game rules, the Jagex forums code of conduct and any forum-specific rules. We usually penalise rule-breakers with temporary forum bans, but we use permanent bans for persistent offenders. You will also be unable to post on the forums if you have been muted in-game, and vice versa.
If you feel we have applied a ban or mute to your account in error, you can appeal via the offence history page.
Please keep your posts clean, respectful and on-topic. Forum users may be of any gender, age, religion, race, sexuality or locality. We believe in a forum where Mac, Linux and Windows users can coexist peacefully. ;-) To keep the peace, we may edit or delete a single post or thread, and where possible, we'll tell you why we've done this.
As with player moderators, Jagex from time to time invites upstanding forum contributors to become forum moderators. These moderators, while also ordinary players, have an important role to play in acting as ambassadors of our gaming communities. Forum moderators are ordinary players who have been recognised for their ability to answer other players' questions, to promote our game rules and to contribute to the gaming community.
You can recognise a forum moderator by the green background of their forum posts. Like other players, forum moderators play our games primarily for pleasure, but they have kindly volunteered to help other players with questions about game rules or content. Forum moderators can't help with account queries, but you should feel welcome to chat to them if you have any questions about Jagex games.
Forum moderators have a role to play in enforcing Jagex's forum rules, and have the following tools to aid them in this work:
Forum moderators are unpaid volunteers and receive no reward for the kind work they do, so please respect them.
We've had a few queries from players about how to become forum moderators. Forum moderator status is conferred by invitation only to a very small number of seasoned players, so we'll be in touch via your Jagex message inbox if we think you'd be a real asset to our forum moderator community. Please be aware of phishing scams claiming to confer moderator status - we don't use email or third-party websites to invite potential moderators.
