Online Safety Tips

A Wizard Run character

Personal information is best kept private while online, and it's important for players to understand the safety risks involved in disclosing this type of information. As such, we encourage parents to talk their children through the following points:

  1. Your child should always ensure that they choose a visible player or character name that doesn't reveal their real identity. They should avoid suggestive names, even if they may seem innocent to you - think about how other players may view them.
  2. Your child's passwords should not be shared with anyone but yourself. Someone else might use their password to access their account.
  3. Your child should always keep in mind that they don't really know a person who they have only spoken to online. Your child should never give out any of their personal information, such as their real name, age, location, phone number or school address.
  4. Encourage your child to speak to you if someone says something that makes them feel uncomfortable or if they are asked for their personal information in an online environment.
  5. If you have any concerns about your child's ability to follow these tips, you should ensure that they are accompanied at all times whilst online. You could create an account of your own in order to play the game with them.
