Cambridge, UK - 21st June 2022 Jagex, the UK’s leading games developer, publisher and pioneer in creating community-driven living games, has once again expanded its internal team with three new hires from across the games industry. The new hires will be joining Jagex to work on an undisclosed Unreal 5 open world survival game within the RuneScape universe, which aims to grow the franchise into new audiences on desktop and console platforms.

Maddie Harper has joined as Senior Producer at Jagex and will be responsible for working closely with the Executive Producer, Product Directors and Product Marketing team to translate the product vision to the development team and stakeholders. From planning to balancing team resources, Maddie will ensure product vision and quality goals are met. Coming over from Ubisoft, Maddie has worked on a diverse range of video games, from The Crew and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, to, more recently, Watch Dogs Legion and Rainbow Six Extraction, bringing eight years of experience to the role.

Guilhem Barloy joins Jagex as Associate Technical Director, tasked with maintaining the technical vision for the project. Working with the Executive Producer, Technical Director, Production, and Art and Design team, Guilhem will steer and develop the technical vision while providing leadership and guidance to the engineering team. With more than 13 years programming experience, Guilhem has worked for both AAA and indie studios and has been involved with a wide variety of prestigious games, including DriveClub, Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Little Big Planet Karting.

Géry Arduino has been appointed Principal Technical Artist and will build, lead and mentor a team whose focus will be ensuring that technical specifications and art direction criteria are met for the project. Another former Ubisoft appointment, Géry has worked on franchises such as Ghost Recon and Assassin’s Creed and has gained vast experience developing tools and pipelines for graphic production.

Phil Mansell, Jagex CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Maddie, Guilhem and Géry into Jagex for this exciting soon-to-be-revealed project. With the ongoing success of RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, and the buzz of activity for our third-party publishing arm Jagex Partners, now is an ideal time to scale up our new game development teams who are bringing a whole new gameplay and visual experience to the legendary RuneScape universe.”
