Adventure once more into Varlamore with a brand-new area expansion and high-risk, high-reward boss fight

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, Cambridge, UK. Set off for one final epic quest to defeat the Doom of Mokhaiotl in ‘Varlamore: The Final Dawn’, the concluding chapter to Old School RuneScape’s beloved Varlamore questline, available in-game today for Old School RuneScape members.

Return to the world of Varlamore to face off against the fearsome Doom in this huge area expansion, featuring three brand new locations to explore, levelling up your skills and unlocking exciting new rewards. Discover the autumnal Auburnal Valley, the perfect place for players to brush up on their Fletching skilling technique; visit the isolated Custodia Pass, an inhospitable pass bordering the Kebos Lowlands that harbors a challenging new slayer dungeon; and roam the tropical Tlati Rainforest, the original home of the Talkasti people, a duo of main settlements and the Gemstone Crab: a brand new PvM boss awaiting to be tackled with fellow adventurers.

At the heart of Varlamore: The Final Dawn is a new Master Level Quest. Steeped in mystery, players will need to join forces with the Queen to save Itzla[ZC1]  and face the Doom of Mokhaiotl. Successfully defeating Doom offers lucrative rewards, including the Eye of Ayak, a one-handed magic weapon; the Confliction Gauntlets; and a pair of Avernic Treads, upgradable boots that players can combine with Pegasian, Primordial, and Eternal boots for the ultimate tribrid footwear.

Upon defeating Doom, choose between escaping with your hard-earned loot or fighting an even more formidable version of the boss for rarer prizes. With Doom becoming increasingly challenging the deeper you drive him into his burrow, players can push their skills to the test. But be careful: should you die, all of your previous rewards will be lost for good. 

To embark on The Final Dawn, players will need to have reached level 66 Thieving, 52 Runecraft, 52 Fletching, and have completed The Heart of Darkness and Perilous Moons quests.

Old School RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progression and play on PC and mobile.
